Caldy Rugby club is a traditional rugby club with a strong ethos of developing home-grown talent, making rugby available to everyone, welcoming newcomers to the sport and creating opportunities for players of all ages.
The Caldy Rugby Business Club was launched in 2017 to provide a forum for likeminded business people to come together and share some of their skills and experience with other members.
We are thrilled with how successful the first year of the Business Club has been and the income generated from partnerships formed by the businesses involved.
Thanks to Klas International we saw some incredible speakers – Ian Ayre, Simon, Halliday, Kenny Logan, Lawrence Dallaglio - and built a full membership of 40 businesses which has provided a solid foundation for commercial activities at the club.
For the 2018/19 season we are opening up an additional 20 memberships but with a cap of 60 members in total.
With a programme of quarterly breakfast events, Business Club members will hear speakers from awide range of commercial, business and sporting backgrounds which we hope members will find useful.
Aside from the calendar of events and network opportunities, Caldy Rugby Business Club offers much more, with a range of partners to whom members will have exclusive access to help develop their own business interests and also to help save money.
Membership has been streamlined to a single package following feedback and learnings from our first year and full details are summarised on the next page.
I look forward to welcoming you as a member of Caldy Rugby Business Club.

23 March 2018 – Breakfast event with Guest Speaker Neil Mellor
Neil made his name in 2004 by scoring a stunning last-minute goal from long range to give Liverpool a 2–1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield. And also scoring a vital goal and setting up another during Liverpool's match with Olympiacos at Anfield during the group stage of the 2004–05 UEFA Champions League, which Liverpool went on to win.
In December 2011, a knee injury sustained following a tackle by Milton Keynes striker JaboI Ibehre resulted in Neil being forced into announcing his retirement on 9 May 2012 at the age of just 29.
Since his retirement, Neil has been doing media work, including match updates for SkySports News and work for LFC TV.
