John Whittaker

Age: 20.

Position: Prop.

Hometown: Sandbach.

First Club: Sandbach RUFC.

Rugby Career: John has had a hugely successful career to date whilst playing at Sandbach. As well as
representing Cheshire at every level possible, he has been in and around the England setup since the
age of 16. John was asked to represent England schools at under-16s, as well as making both the 18s
and 20s England Counties teams. He represented the Counties 20s side on their tour of the
Netherlands in June of this year.

Decision to join Caldy: Caldy is a much bigger test for John given their status of a National 1 side.
Simon Verbickas was also a big attraction having worked with him at Sandbach. John believes the
plans for the club are very good and being asked to join was not a difficult decision. So far, John has
enjoyed joining the current lads and is looking forward to what lies ahead.

Aspirations for season ahead: John is looking to get as much game time in National 1 as possible
which he believes will ultimately help the team achieve success this season. Personally, John is
aspiring to be involved in the county senior setup of which he’s trained with in the past.

Favourite beverage: Guinness/Gin and tonic.

Favourite exercise in the gym: Squats.

What he loves most about his body: Hair.
