Caldy v Chinnor
Caldy’s first home game of the New Year sees them take on Chinnor who are making their first ever visit to Paton Field for a league match. Caldy will be looking to get back into form after a run of 2 wins in 10 games and will be looking to banish memories of last week’s heavy defeat away at Loughborough Students.
Chinnor were promoted into National 1 this season and have equipped themselves well and currently are in sixth in the league eight points off the lead and nine points ahead of Caldy. The two sides played out an epic game in Oxfordshire earlier in the season which saw Caldy make a great second half comeback after being behind at half time. Although they have only won two of their previous five games after a poor December, they won by a single point last time out when they beat Cambridge 28-27.
Ted Stagg will be missing this weekend after assessment by the physio. He has been sent for a scan for a persistent neck injury that has been troubling him for some time.
Caldy's second XV are also in action this weekend at Paton Field against Lymm looking for a win that will clinch top spot in the league, a defeat would mean a tense wait for the result of second placed Chester. The second team game is currently scheduled to kick off at the same time as the first team at 2pm. Please look at 'That Friday Feeling' article on the website for Conformation.
As there are two games on at the club on the same day a high number of supporters are expected and the club would like to remind supporters who have season tickets they must be shown. If they are not shown then they will be required to pay the standard £10 entrance fee.
