Caldy v Cinderford
Caldy will be looking to bounce back after last week's defeat against Blackheath playing newly promoted
Cinderford in what will be the first league meeting between the two sides.
The frustration was evident at the final whistle on Saturday and the players will look to overcome the
mistakes that cost them in their first home defeat of the season.
Players will look to lift their game before the league takes a break after Saturday's game with a third of
the league campaign completed.
Derek Salisbury suffered bruising to the head in the game against Blackheath but the hospital has given
him the all clear for the match at the weekend. The rest of team came through the game unscathed.
The defeat saw Caldy drop from the league lead to sixth but due to the tightness of the league this
season the Ravers are only three points behind new leaders Rotherham Titans and three points ahead
of the weekend's opponents who currently sit in eighth.
Callum Ridgeway who has been in the matchday squad regularly for the majority of the season will be
pushing for a starting place after playing well coming off the bench a number of times this season,
making his starting debut against Cambridge a fortnight ago.
Cinderford are based in Gloucestershire playing at National 1 for the first time after being promoted from
National 2 South last season winning all but one of their 30 league games and have made a decent start
for a promoted side winning 5 and losing 4 of their opening games this season beating Cambridge 14-9
at home last weekend.
Cinderford are a similar club to Caldy having come up from level six to level three since the turn of the
century with the club having a large minis and juniors section with a number of the first team playing at
every level at the club.
Due to the shorter days this weekend's game will kick off an hour earlier at 2 p m.
